A tree manifested out of my state of mind because I look at trees as an energy of strength… an endurance through adversity (the mighty oak for example is an enduring symbol of strength and survival) and the shedding of old patterns and beliefs, to bring in new ones. Trees go through a cycle of death and rebirth every year and I feel they are understanding of the pain and difficulty of transformation we humans must face. Trees provide a very healing and loving energy, and it was this beautiful energy which I needed to connect to the art inside me — to help comfort my heart chakra, and thus the heart shapes found their way into this creation. The intricate swirling patterns of the roots were hypnotic for me, and helped to focus my mind. In nature and life, when there is an ending of some kind, it is always followed by a new beginning, a rebirth — the seed represents that potential for new life to begin - new ideas to be formed, new opportunities. That is why I decided to call this piece Tree of life and love (Li/ov/Fe)!
